Will the car be diesel powered?

Rumor has it there are two gas and two diesel engines being introduced.

Deisel will be cheaper to run but a bigger pain to maintain. Do alot of coty driving right now, not sure the diesel will help me much.

By maintain do you mean get fuel for? Diesel is the way to go for maintenance and cost effectiveness IMHO.

-Diesel engines are generally more rugged and reliable.
-There is no sparking as the fuel auto-ignites. The absence of spark plugs or spark wires lowers maintenance costs.
-Fuel cost per mile produced is thirty to fifty percent lower than that of gasoline engines.

And if you run Bio Diesel you will always smell like french fries! Not that i think there will ever be an Audi that runs on bioD.

I currently own a VW Golf 1.9 TDI and I used to own a VW Polo 1.4 TDI.
I am a big fan of the TDI engines.

Maintenance is usually more expensive with diesel engines, because they are more complex. The thing is, because they are more reliable, they don't need as frequent maintenance as petrol engines.

They will theoretically last longer, and diesel is generally cheaper than petrol, but they also cost more to start with.

For me, it's all about the kilometers you make...
